What is Bakhoor? "Boukhoor or Bakhoor ( Arabic بوور) is the Arabic name given to fragrant bricks or a mixture of natural traditional ingredients, mainly wood chips.
These fragrant shavings are burned in charcoal or incense burners (chocolate burner) to perfume the house and clothes with thick, fragrant smoke.
How to use Bakhoor? Burn a coal disc in the Bakhoor burner until it shines. Then put small pieces of Bakhoor powder or wood chips on top of the bright charcoal. Let the perfume smoke fill the air of the place but not too much as this can take a lot of oxygen from the room. The fragrance stays there after the smoke disappears.
